Camp Moremi

A royal welcome to the Camp Moremi jungle

A tiny bush plane picked us up from the dusty terminal in Maun and dropped us off beside Xakanaxa (pronounced “kah-ka-na-kah”), a lagoon in the Moremi Game Reserve. Camp Moremi staff were already there waiting for us, ready to help with our luggage.

In May 2018, the  camp had only just been refurbished– it was barely three weeks old when we arrived. We quickly settled into our gorgeous new room which had decadent twin rainshowers in the stacked stone bathroom.

Aside from being a haven of luxury, Camp Moremi offered us countless sightings of storybook animals - plus it is a twitcher's paradise. We also stopped for morning tea at a very scenic spot known as Dead Tree Island.

At night, food was served after a spirited musical performance by all the staff.

As we had a few hours to kill in the afternoons, we put together this video of Camp Moremi using our pre-dinner entertainment as a soundtrack.
